Subscription annual cost calculator
A 15.99 monthly streaming plan, 99.99 a year for cloud storage and 12 a month for news come to 36.32 a month and 435.87 a year. Mixed billing cycles, one honest total. Free in your browser.

Streaming apps, cloud storage, gym memberships, software seats, and delivery clubs rarely share the same billing cadence, so a quick glance at your bank statement never answers the real question: what does this stack cost every month and every year on a fair basis. A negative amount is rejected with a clear invalid input error because a cost ledger does not treat refunds as subscription charges.
What to send: subscriptions, amounts, and billing cycles
Each entry is an object with a non-negative amount charged per billing period and a cycle string describing that period. Cycle accepts common labels such as weekly, biweekly or fortnightly, monthly, quarterly, semiannual or half-yearly, and yearly or annual, with spaces and hyphens normalized before lookup. Optional name, label, title, service, or plan gives a human-readable row label for dashboards and receipts; if you omit the name the engine assigns Subscription one, Subscription two, and so on in list order.
At least one subscription is required; an empty array fails validation before any scaling. Unknown cycle strings also fail with a list of accepted values so typos surface early. All validation runs before normalization, so a bad list never returns half-filled totals.
How monthly and annual totals are computed for each cycle
For every subscription the engine multiplies the billed amount by how many times that cycle occurs in one year: weekly uses fifty-two, biweekly uses twenty-six, monthly uses twelve, quarterly uses four, semiannual uses two, and yearly uses one. That product is the annualized cost for the line. The monthly equivalent is the annualized cost divided by twelve, which spreads yearly and quarterly plans into a comparable monthly figure without inventing mid-cycle proration.
Intermediate products use ordinary floating-point arithmetic; every money field in the response is then rounded half-up to two decimal places so results look like currency on a statement rather than long binary fractions. Each result row includes its zero-based index, display name, echoed amount, canonical cycle label, monthly cost, and annual cost.
What you can do with it
Personal subscription stack audit
List every streaming, cloud, gym, and software charge with its real billing cycle and instantly see true monthly and annual household totals.
Monthly vs yearly plan comparison
Finance coaches and shoppers normalize mixed cadences so a yearly discount can be compared fairly against several monthly seats.
FAQ
How do I calculate total annual subscription cost?
Each item needs amount and cycle (for example monthly or yearly).
What happens if an amount is negative?
Subscription amounts must be non-negative; negative values are rejected and not charged.
Which billing cycles are supported?
Weekly, biweekly (fortnightly), monthly, quarterly, semiannual (half-yearly), and yearly/annual. Spaces and hyphens in cycle strings are normalized.
Is the subscription annual cost calculator free?
The browser tool runs free on your device.
Do I need a name for each subscription?
Names are optional. If you omit name (or label/title), the engine labels rows Subscription 1, Subscription 2, and so on while still computing totals.

Technical notes
This subscription annual cost calculator takes a list of services with each amount and billing cycle, converts every line into normalized monthly and annual figures using fixed period factors, and returns the summed household or team total in clean JSON.
What to send: subscriptions, amounts, and billing cycles
Send a JSON body with a required subscriptions array—aliases items, list, services, and plans are accepted when your client already uses another field name. Amount may arrive as a number or a numeric string; aliases price, cost, fee, and charge map to the same value so billing exports and form builders can keep familiar keys. Negative amounts raise invalid_input with a message that the amount cannot be negative—the product promise for this calculator is a cost total, not a refund ledger. Extremely large amounts and very long lists are capped so Worker isolate math stays bounded.
How monthly and annual totals are computed for each cycle
Top-level total_monthly and total_annual sum the pre-rounded monthly and annual contributions so the grand totals stay consistent with the line math before final half-up rounding. The count field equals the number of input rows, currency_decimals is always two, and method is always subscription_annual so downstream code can branch without sniffing shapes. Missing subscriptions, empty lists, missing amount, missing cycle, non-numeric amounts, unknown cycles, and negative amounts all fail with invalid_input and are not charged after rejection. Identical inputs always produce identical JSON because the path is pure arithmetic with no network, no random seed, and no wall clock.
API usage, pricing, budget workflows, and practical limits
Call the free in-browser subscription annual cost calculator when you are auditing a personal stack, comparing monthly versus yearly plan offers, or teaching household budgeting without building a spreadsheet. Keep lists within ordinary household or team sizes; the published subscription cap protects isolate runtime while still covering full media and software stacks. The product promise is transparent cycle normalization and summed cost, not live merchant scraping or bank-feed classification—those intents belong to different tools with different search terms and engines. Use the prepaid API when a personal-finance app, expense coach, SaaS procurement helper, family shared-cost bot, or onboarding flow needs a stable KIT contract at $0.002 per successful item; validation failures never consume balance after the engine rejects the request. Pair this endpoint with currency converters only when every amount already shares one currency—this capability does not convert foreign exchange, apply sales tax, trial credits, or promo codes. Authors shipping SDKs can map the subscriptions array into comparison tables and surface total_monthly and total_annual in a summary banner for cancel-or-keep decisions.
Integration use cases
Budget apps and finance bots
Expense apps and chatbots call a stable prepaid endpoint instead of reimplementing cycle factors and negative-amount guards in every client language.
