Pokemon GO egg hatch calculator

A 5 km egg with 1.2 km already walked still needs 3.8 km, and you are 24% of the way there. Enter any egg distance, event eggs included, and plan your next walk. Free in your browser.

Pokemon GO hatches eggs by walking distance, not by a timer. Each egg carries a required kilometre target — two, five, seven, ten, or twelve in the usual inventory, plus occasional event distances — and Adventure Sync credits GPS movement until that target is met. Trainers who only see a progress bar still need a number: how many kilometres remain after the distance already walked. This Pokemon GO egg hatch calculator subtracts walked kilometres from the egg's required distance and returns the remaining kilometres, clamped at zero once the egg is ready.

How Pokemon GO egg hatching distance works, and why remaining kilometres matter

Pokemon GO does not hatch eggs on a clock. An egg is a walking contract: the game credits Adventure Sync and in-app GPS movement toward a required distance printed on the egg, and the egg becomes ready only when that distance is complete. Standard inventory eggs are two, five, seven, ten, and twelve kilometres; community days and Adventure Week events sometimes add one-kilometre or twenty-five-kilometre eggs, so a calculator that only knows five canned sizes would lie on event weekends.

What a trainer actually needs is remaining kilometres — required distance minus distance already walked — so they can plan a loop around the park, a grocery run, or a cycling session that Adventure Sync will count. The progress bar in the incubator tray is a picture, not a number you can paste into a training log or a raid-day itinerary.

Searchers type pokemon go egg hatch calculator, pokemon go egg distance, how much further to hatch this egg, and remaining km pokemon go egg when they already know the printed requirement and the kilometres credited so far. This landing answers that remaining-distance question only.

It does not roll the egg, it does not invent species odds, and it does not pretend a Super Incubator changes the egg's printed kilometre target; incubators change how fast credited movement applies in the live game, while this tool reports how many kilometres of the printed requirement still remain after the distance already walked.

What if I already walked more than the egg requires?

Overshoot is a ready egg, not an error: the calculator never returns a negative leftover.

Do Super Incubators change the remaining kilometres?

No. This tool reports leftover kilometres of the printed requirement.

How many kilometres are left on a 5 km egg after 1.2 km?

3.8 km are left. The calculator subtracts the distance already walked from the egg's printed distance, and it also shows that you are 24% of the way to hatching.

Does it work for event eggs with unusual distances?

Yes. Besides the usual 2, 5, 7, 10 and 12 km eggs, you can enter any positive distance an event egg shows, so the remaining kilometres stay right on event weekends.

Can it tell me which Pokémon will hatch?

No. It does not roll the egg or guess species odds. It answers one question only: how many kilometres of the printed distance you still have to walk.

Everything on this page is available programmatically. This section is for teams who want to wire it into their own systems; everyone else can just use the tool above.

A negative walked distance is rejected with invalid_input because a trainer cannot have walked less than nothing.

Input contract, remaining-kilometre arithmetic, and error behaviour

Example: a five-kilometre egg with 1.2 kilometres already walked yields remaining 3.8 kilometres, twenty-four percent progress, and hatched false. A two-kilometre egg that already shows 2.5 kilometres walked is ready: remaining is zero and hatched is true, rather than a negative leftover that would confuse a planner. POST a JSON body with two required finite numbers, both in kilometres. required_km is the egg's printed hatch distance — two, five, seven, ten, twelve, or any positive event distance — and also accepts the aliases required_distance, egg_km, and hatch_km. walked_km is how far Adventure Sync or the in-app tracker has already credited, and also accepts distance_walked, walked, and progress_km. Each field may arrive as a JSON number or as a numeric string. Missing fields, empty strings, Infinity, and NaN fail with invalid_input naming the field. A negative walked_km also fails: a trainer cannot have walked less than zero kilometres, and that is the documented error of this contract, not billed. required_km must be strictly positive; a zero or negative requirement is not an egg. On success the body echoes the validated required_km and walked_km, returns remaining_km as the maximum of zero and required minus walked, returns progress_percent as walked over required times one hundred capped at one hundred, and sets hatched true when remaining_km is zero. Results are rounded to a stable decimal precision so the same two numbers always yield the same JSON across JavaScript engines, with no network, no clock, and no randomness in the path.

Where a Pokemon GO egg hatch calculator earns its keep, and what it will not do

Use the free browser tool when you want an immediate remaining-kilometre figure while standing over an incubator tray, packing for a community day, or deciding whether a five-kilometre egg will finish on a known walking commute. Limits are intentional. The calculator does not predict which Pokemon will hatch, does not apply candy or experience, and does not read a Niantic account. It does not convert miles for you — send kilometres (one international mile is 1.609344 km if you measured on a treadmill). Each successful request is one billable item at $0.002; failed validation does not consume balance. Pair remaining_km with your own pace arithmetic if you want an arrival time: this endpoint returns distance, not minutes, because walking speed, Adventure Sync pause, and Super Incubator multipliers are player-side choices the egg itself does not store.

Finish a 5 km or 10 km egg on a planned walk

Enter the printed requirement and the kilometres already credited, then use remaining_km to choose a loop, commute, or park circuit that will complete the hatch.

Track several incubating eggs in a sheet or bot

Call the API for each egg with its required_km and walked_km so a raid-day itinerary or Discord bot can list remaining kilometres without scraping the game.

Check whether a commute already covers the leftover distance

Compare remaining_km to a known walking or cycling commute so you know before you leave whether the egg will be ready when you arrive.

How do I calculate remaining kilometres to hatch a Pokemon GO egg?

Send a positive required_km (the printed hatch distance) and a non-negative walked_km (distance already credited). The API returns remaining_km = max(0, required_km − walked_km), plus progress_percent and hatched.

What happens if the distance already walked is negative?

The task fails with invalid_input. A trainer cannot have walked less than zero kilometres, so a negative walked_km is rejected and is not billed.

What does the Pokemon GO egg hatch calculator cost?

The browser tool is free. API requests use prepaid KIT balance at $0.002 per successful call; invalid input is not billed.
