Minecraft stack calculator

130 cobblestone is 2 full stacks of 64 plus 2 left over, which takes 3 inventory slots. Enter any item count to get stacks, leftovers and slots for chests, shulker boxes or your hotbar, with 16 per stack for ender pearls. Free in your browser.

Minecraft inventories fill by stack, not by a raw item count, so a farm haul of one hundred thirty cobblestone is two stacks of sixty-four plus two leftover pieces rather than a single number you can drop into a chest without thinking. This Minecraft stack calculator converts a whole-number item count into full stacks plus remainder using the game's default stack size of sixty-four, or sixteen when the items are ender pearls.

How Minecraft stack sizes turn a count into stacks plus remainder

Minecraft treats most items as stacks of sixty-four: dirt, cobblestone, diamonds, iron ingots, wheat, and the majority of blocks and drops share that cap. When you empty a hopper line, a shulker box, or a mining session's inventory, the raw count in the tooltip is almost never a multiple of sixty-four, so you still have to convert that count into full stacks plus leftover items before you know how many chest slots, shulker slots, or hotbar slots the haul will occupy.

The conversion is integer division: stacks equals the count divided by the stack size, discarding the fraction, and remainder equals the count modulo the stack size. One hundred thirty cobblestone is two full stacks of sixty-four with two items left over; sixty-four even is one full stack and no remainder; sixty-three is zero full stacks and sixty-three leftover. Ender pearls break the default: they stack only to sixteen, so forty pearls are two stacks of sixteen with eight remaining.

This calculator implements exactly those two sizes—sixty-four for standard items and sixteen for ender pearls—and refuses to invent a third unofficial stack cap. Zero items is a valid haul: zero stacks and zero remainder. Negative counts are not a haul; they fail validation.

Fractional counts are not a Minecraft inventory quantity either, because the game never stores half a cobblestone in a slot, so non-integers fail as well. Use the result to plan chest rows, restock a combat kit, or quote a shop listing without counting stacks on your fingers.

Where farms, shops, SMPs, and tools use Minecraft stack counts

Survival farms and mining sessions produce awkward totals: a cobblestone generator, a villager trading hall, or a long strip-mine dump items faster than anyone wants to divide by sixty-four by hand. Converting the haul into full stacks plus remainder tells you how many chest slots to reserve, whether a shulker will close on the leftover, and how much still needs a second container.

PvP kits and End runners restock ender pearls in stacks of sixteen, not sixty-four, so the same remainder arithmetic with the pearl stack size prevents over-buying or leaving a hole in the hotbar. Server shops and economy plugins list goods in stacks; a deterministic conversion from a raw item count to stacks plus remainder keeps a listing honest when a farmer pastes a hopper total into the shop sign.

Map makers and datapack authors seed loot tables and challenge chests from scripts and need an oracle that matches the Java and Bedrock stack caps instead of a spreadsheet rounding error. Teachers treating Minecraft as a familiar remainder problem can show that one hundred thirty divided by sixty-four is two remainder two, then switch the divisor to sixteen for pearls without changing the story.

Keep requests within the published ceiling, pin the integer stacks and remainder in tests, and you get reproducible Minecraft stack counts for overlays, bots, and edge workers without standing up a game-data library of your own.

Turn a mining haul into chest stacks

Convert a cobblestone, ore, or crop count into full stacks of 64 plus leftover items so you know how many chest or shulker slots the haul will occupy.

Price a shop listing from a hopper total

Paste a farm or hopper item count and get stacks plus remainder so an SMP shop sign or economy plugin lists goods the way Minecraft stores them.

How does the Minecraft stack calculator convert items into stacks?

One hundred thirty items become two stacks of 64 with 2 left over.

What stack size do ender pearls use?

Ender pearls stack to 16, not 64. Forty pearls become two stacks of 16 with remainder 8.

What happens if the item count is negative or not an integer?

Minecraft slots store whole items only, so decimals, empty values, and negative counts are rejected.

How many inventory slots will my items occupy?

One hundred thirty standard items need three slots: two full stacks and a leftover of two.

Can I use a stack size other than 64 or 16?

No. Only two sizes are used: 64 for standard items such as dirt, cobblestone, diamonds or iron ingots, and 16 for ender pearls. The calculator does not invent any other stack size.

Negative counts and values that are not integers fail with invalid_input and are not billed, because a Minecraft slot never holds a fraction of a block and a negative haul is not a quantity you can store. Successful API calls cost $0.002; invalid input does not consume balance.

Input contract, errors, and the shape of a successful result

A negative count fails with a message that count must not be negative. An item value outside the enum fails naming item. Those failures are not billed. Example: count one hundred thirty with item standard yields two stacks, remainder two, one hundred twenty-eight items in full stacks, and three slots. POST a JSON body with count, a required non-negative integer, and an optional item field that selects the stack size. count is the number of items you picked up, farmed, or need to store; aliases items, quantity, and n are accepted so spreadsheets and query strings can reuse the same contract. item must be the enum value standard or ender_pearl; if you omit it, the calculator uses standard and a stack size of sixty-four. Aliases item_type and kind are accepted for item. count must be an integer from zero through one billion; a missing field, an empty string, a decimal such as one point five, Infinity, or a non-numeric token fails with invalid_input naming count. On success the body echoes the validated count and item, then stack_size (sixty-four or sixteen), stacks (the number of completely full stacks), remainder (items that do not fill another stack), items_in_full_stacks (stacks times stack_size), slots_needed (one inventory slot per full stack plus one extra slot when remainder is greater than zero), and a formula string restating stacks equals floor of count over stack_size and remainder equals count modulo stack_size. Example: count forty with item ender_pearl yields two stacks of sixteen, remainder eight, and three slots. Pair the free browser run on this page with the priced API when a bot, overlay, or test suite needs the identical arithmetic. A successful call is billed at $0.002.

Where farms, shops, SMPs, and tools use Minecraft stack counts

On this page the work runs entirely in your browser; through the API each successful lookup costs $0.002, invalid input is not charged, and nothing is stored after the response returns.

Restock ender pearls for combat

Ender pearls stack to 16, not 64. Convert a pearl count into full pearl stacks plus remainder before filling a PvP kit or End-runner hotbar.

What does the Minecraft stack calculator cost?

The browser tool is free. API requests use prepaid balance at $0.002 per successful call; invalid input is not billed.
