Cyber Monday moves every year because its date is tied to United States Thanksgiving rather than to a fixed day of November. This calculator accepts a Gregorian calendar year and determines Thanksgiving as the fourth Thursday in November, then advances four calendar days to the following Monday. It returns the Cyber Monday date in ISO format, its numeric components, and the Thanksgiving date used as the anchor. The calculation uses bounded integer arithmetic only, so it is reproducible across browsers, servers, locales, and time zones without consulting a holiday service or the system clock.
How the Cyber Monday date is determined
Cyber Monday is the Monday immediately after the United States Thanksgiving holiday. Thanksgiving is observed on the fourth Thursday of November, which means it can occur from November 22 through November 28. Cyber Monday consequently falls from November 26 through December 2.
The calculator first determines the weekday of November 1 in the requested Gregorian year. From that weekday it locates the first Thursday, advances three complete weeks to reach the fourth Thursday, and finally adds four calendar days to reach Monday. This sequence follows the holiday relationship directly instead of relying on a stored lookup table.
The response includes the resulting date, the year, month, and day as separate values, the weekday name, and the computed Thanksgiving date so that callers can inspect the anchor behind the answer. Because the rule is expressed entirely as calendar arithmetic, the same input year always produces the same result and historical or future years do not depend on an annually updated holiday feed.
Using the result safely in software and schedules
Send one required field named year as an integer from 1 through 9999. Cyber Monday can fall in late November or, when Thanksgiving is November 27 or 28, in early December. Missing years, decimal values, nonnumeric text, and years outside the supported range are rejected as invalid input rather than coerced into an uncertain date.
ISO strings are convenient for database keys, scheduled campaign configuration, filenames, and comparisons because their lexical order matches their calendar order within the supported four-digit range. If another system needs a timestamp, choose the intended local time and time zone only after receiving this calendar date. Cyber Monday names a civil date, not a universal instant, so attaching midnight UTC prematurely may display the preceding date for users west of the chosen zone.
Why deterministic calendar arithmetic matters
Holiday planning often happens years ahead and is repeated by several systems: merchandising calendars, email automation, staffing forecasts, editorial schedules, analytics annotations, and delivery cutoffs may all need the same Cyber Monday boundary. A remote holiday provider can change formats, require credentials, become unavailable, or interpret regional observance rules differently. This capability instead implements the narrow published relationship needed for Cyber Monday and performs no network request.
The proleptic Gregorian calculation begins from a fixed weekday reference and applies leap-year rules with integer operations, making its behavior straightforward to reproduce in tests. The included Thanksgiving date gives auditing systems a useful intermediate value: reviewers can confirm that it is a Thursday between November 22 and 28 and that the returned Cyber Monday is exactly four days later. That transparency helps catch integration errors without turning a simple date rule into an opaque service dependency.
What you can do with it
Plan retail campaign launches
Set promotion, email, and landing-page schedules from the correct Cyber Monday date for each year in a long-range commerce calendar.
Annotate analytics timelines
Generate a consistent annual marker for comparing traffic, conversions, support volume, or fulfillment performance around Cyber Monday.
Coordinate staffing and operations
Anchor support coverage, warehouse staffing, content deadlines, and deployment freezes to the Monday following U.S. Thanksgiving.
FAQ
What is the rule for the Cyber Monday date?
Cyber Monday is the Monday after United States Thanksgiving, which is the fourth Thursday of November. It falls between November 26 and December 2.
What input does the calculator accept?
Provide year as an integer from 1 through 9999.
Does the calculation use my time zone?
No. It computes a Gregorian calendar date with pure arithmetic, independent of the system clock, browser locale, and time zone.
Can Cyber Monday fall in December?
Yes. Thanksgiving can land from 22 to 28 November, so Cyber Monday runs from 26 November to 2 December. When Thanksgiving is on 27 or 28 November, Cyber Monday moves into early December.
Should I store Cyber Monday as midnight UTC?
Better not. Cyber Monday is a calendar date, not a single instant, and midnight UTC can show up as Sunday for people west of that zone. Pick the local time and zone you mean after getting the date.

401 | unauthorized | Missing or invalid API key. |

Technical notes
Using the result safely in software and schedules
A successful response returns date in the fixed YYYY-MM-DD format, numeric month and day components, weekday as Monday, and thanksgiving_date in the same ISO format. The API price for each successful item is $0.002; interactive browser use is available without a network-dependent calculation.
Technical questions
Does the response include Thanksgiving?
Yes. thanksgiving_date identifies the fourth Thursday used as the anchor, while date contains the Cyber Monday four calendar days later.
How much does the Cyber Monday date API cost?
Each successful API request costs $0.002. The browser calculator is free for interactive use, and invalid input is rejected before a successful result is produced.
